High School |
PLM was awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract through the Institute of Education Sciences in the US Department of Education to develop online laboratory experiments for high school physics students. High School Virtual Physics Lab includes video clips, simulated laboratory experiments, and data collection tools. Four labs were developed and tested during Phase I to assess their feasibility and to prepare them for commercialization. An additional 20 labs will be created and tested during Phase II. High School and college physics teachers will evaluate the lab content and procedures during formative testing. Summative evaluation will be done in physics classes in three high schools. PLM is in discussions with Houghton-Mifflin-Harcourt Publishing on commercialization. Jeanne Finstein, PLM, principal investigator John Baro,
