PLM was awarded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I and Phase II contracts through the Institute of Education Sciences in the US Department of Education, to develop a set of online laboratory experiments for college level physics students. Virtual Physics Lab includes video clips, simulated laboratory experiments, and data collection tools. Throughout development, PLM worked with additional content experts from Auburn, Marquette, and Angelo State Universities. Testing at Auburn and Penn State Universities showed no difference in learning between students who used the virtual labs and those who did the same labs in traditional hands-on settings. PLM is working with Cengage Learning on further development and commercialization of this product. Jeanne Finstein, PLM, principal investigator John Baro,
